Unbox and Install

How-To: Unbox and Install your Scope wheels

To help you install your new Scope Artech wheels, we’ve listed the main steps. Inside the box you will find the required accessories to register and maintain your Artech wheels.

  • Please take a few minutes to register your Artech wheels at our website. Registering your wheels will activate the lifetime warranty and help us to assist you in case support is required.
  • All Artech wheels are tubeless-ready and come with pre-installed tubeless rim-tape and tubeless valves. In case you prefer to ride with clincher tires and inner tubes, you can easily remove the tubeless valves by unscrewing the locknut and pulling out the tubeless valves. The Artech wheels from the Road, All-Road and Triathlon series have a hooked tire-bed and support a maximum tire-pressure of 125 psi / 8.6 bar. The Artech Gravel wheels we make use of a hookless tire-bed and can handle a maximum tire-pressure of 60 psi / 4.1 bars.
  • For a more detailed instruction how to instal tubeless tires, check our instruction video tubeless installation.
  • Next, mount the cassette on the free-hub body. Scope Artech freehub bodies are available for all Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo standards. Make sure you tighten the cassette-ring with the correct amount of torque, as recommended by the cassette manufacturer.
  • All Scope Artech wheels are compatible with center-lock disc brake rotors. You need an adapter to make use of 6-bolt rotors. Now, mount the rotors on the hub and make sure you mount the rotor ring with the correct amount of torque as recommended by the rotor manufacturer.
  • The axle system of the Artech front and rear wheels are developed in such way that it ensures the wheels run smoothly when installed in the bike without any adjustments. Since the through axles have a significant clamping force which could result in a tension on the bearings, the Artech hubs are designed with an intentional buffer.
  • As a result, when the Artech wheels are not installed in a bike there is a slight movement possible on the axle system. This movement is intentionally and will disappear when the wheels are installed in the bike and the trough axles are tightened according to specification.
  • As a final step, mount the wheels into your bike by making use of the through axle delivered with your bike.

Now all is set, and you are ready to get amazed by their performance.
