After starting a successful continental team in 2023, Team TDT – Unibet also made its debut in cyclocross last year. Lander Loockx is leading the way as the team’s first cyclocross rider and is having an impressive season so far.

After a couple of good training weeks in Spain, Lander felt ready for the second part of his CX season and returned home to start at the Superprestige Diegem Cross. As Diegem is close to his home soil, Lander says he’s always extra motivated to line up on the start of this race.

A dedicated team of mechanics makes it possible for Lander to participate all cyclocross races on his agenda. The team ensures that Lander only needs to focus on the race itself, as his bike is all taken care off. They travel with him to all races and prepare and take care of his bikes before – and during – the CX races.

On the 28th of December, Superprestige Diegem 2023 was on the calendar. This evening cyclocross is known for its lively atmosphere and notable winners. After a fun intervention by different youtubers and ex-cycling professionals to promote the sport and entertain the audience, it was time to start the Elite race.

The race itself was a though one. The starting list included some of the biggest names in cyclocross and even cycling in general. With names like Mathieu van der Poel and Tom Pidcock, you can be sure that the race is going to be fast.

The race itself went really well for Lander. Despite encountering some setbacks, including being stuck behind two crashes, Lander showed his skills by finishing 8th on the finish line. Super strong performance close to his home ground!

Looking ahead, Lander will shift his focus to road races later in the season, but luckily in January we will still see him participating in cyclocross events.
