Scope Cycling is proud to partner with Cycling Team Wallonie-Bruxelles for the coming two seasons. Over the past couple of years, the team has established itself as one of the leading UCI Professional Continental outfits in Europe.

Being a Belgian team, the cobbled classics mark the first highlights for Wallonie-Bruxelles. Races like Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, E3 Binck Bank, and Gent-Wevelgem stand out in the race calendar. Furthermore, the team hopes to receive a wildcard for the Tour of Flanders, one of cycling’s monuments, and a race which the team animated in the past.

“We’re excited to partner with Cycling Team Wallonie-Bruxelles, as this means that we will have two teams at the highest level of the sport that not only put our products through their paces but also help us to further improve our already best-in-class road wheelsets”, says Nieck Busser, Co-founder of Scope.

“While Riwal-Readynez is mainly focusing on the hillier races, Wallonie-Bruxelles will try to shine on the cobbles. This is an amazing opportunity for us to showcase our products on a wide range of terrains.”

Attacking the Cobbles, Tubeless

BAll Scope road wheelsets feature optimized aerodynamics and an outstanding lateral stiffness. Furthermore, they are developed to perform best with tubeless tires. During the development process, Scope worked closely with renown tire manufacturer Schwalbe, another sponsor of Wallonie-Bruxelles, to achieve the best possible riding characteristics tubeless-ready wheels can offer.

“We’re a team that helps experienced riders to seek their chances at some of the world’s biggest races. At the same time, we  focus on developing young talents. It is extremely important for us to provide our riders with the best possible equipment. Scope wheels allow us and our riders to accelerate our ambitions come race day, thanks to their proven benefits“, adds Christophe Brandt, team manager Cycling Team Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Wallonie-Bruxelles will use Scope R4c and R5c wheelsets with tubeless Schwalbe Pro One tires during the 2019 race season. Besides providing the wheels for the Professional Continental team, Scope will also support the team’s highly successful u23 development program.

UCI Pro Continental Team commits to race Tubeless

Scope Cycling has its roots in professional cycling and will further grow its involvement in the sport by becoming the official wheel sponsor of the UCI Pro Continental team Riwal Readynez.

With the turn of the year, Riwal Readynez became the highest ranked professional cycling team in Scandinavia. The International Cycling Union approved the team’s application for an UCI Pro Continental status, in November last year.

Riwal Readynez is set to race all major races of the UCI Europe Tour, and is nominated to receive wildcard invitations to UCI World Tour races such as the Strade Bianche and the Amstel Gold Race.

In a statement issued by the team, general manager Steffen Kromann showed himself both content and confident: “We are very happy, proud and excited about the future ahead. We are in a good place, we have a strong team and we are as motivated as ever for 2019.”

Scandinavian Feel

Based in Odense, Denmark, the team will have a Scandinavian feel. It has signed a total of 16 riders who hail from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Norway, and Sweden.

The team will race on Pinarello Dogma F10 bikes and will further use products from bearing specialist CeramicSpeed. The latter will provide the bearings for the Scope R3c, R4c, and R5c wheels, which the team will use.

Scope joins Riwal Readynez as a new technology and equipment partner and becomes the team’s official wheel sponsor for the coming two seasons.

“Scope stands for quality, innovation and passion. It’s always been one of our core principles to develop products that are best in class. Becoming the official wheel partner of Riwal Readynez will help us to put our wheels through their paces at the highest level of racing and to receive valuable feedback from the riders. It’ll enable us to further improve our current range of products”, says Nieck Busser, Co-founder of Scope.

Entering a partnership at that level of the sport after being in the market for only three-and-a-half years makes us extremely proud and shows that our young and ambitious team is capable and ready to shape the future of competitive cycling.”

Taking the next Step

Scope is known for its innovative engineering and high-quality carbon wheels. All Scope wheels are developed in the Netherlands as a system and combine a high stiffness, an extreme brake performance and an aerodynamic rim profile which provides an optimized balance between low drag and side wind influence.

Scope is happy to partner with Riwal Readynez and to join them taking the next step in their development. After having tested the full range of Scope wheels throughout the last few months the team decided to commit to race tubeless come 2019, thus making them the only team in the professional peloton to do so.
